Vada Sambar


  • Medu Vada Mix
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Green Chilli
  • Fresh Coriander
  • Curry Leaves
  • Tur Daal
  • Cooking Oil
  • Spices: Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric, Black Pepper, Cumin (Jira) Powder, Coriander (Dhania) Powder, Sambar Masala Powder

Cooking Instructions:

  1. In pressure cooker, add tur daal, cooking oil, spices (salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, black pepper, sambar masala, cumin and coriander powder)
  2. Add chopped onion, tomato, fresh coriander and curry leaves
  3. Add water and cook daal till soft and mushy
  4. In a mixing bowl, add medu vada mix, chopped green chilli and some fresh coriander
  5. Add water and mix well
  6. In frying pan, add cooking oil
  7. Mould spoon full of vada mixture to make round or disc shaped balls
  8. Fry vada till golden crispy brown in boiling oil
  9. Soak excess oil using tissue paper
  10. Dip vadas into sambar curry and serve hot
